Victorian Farm Buildings – Alan Wandsworth
Recording and Researching the Past for the Future
A fascinating talk given by Alan Wadsworth who was born in Yorkshire, lived on a farm, became a mathematician and also took up archaeology primarily of buildings and landscapes.
Moved to Worcestershire in 1916 and joined the recording project which had just started in this area and were recruiting volunteers.
As many historic buildings are no longer appropriate for their original use, they are adapted for another use or decay.
This talk charted the origins and changing uses of mainly farm buildings with illustrations showing photos old and new, maps and diagrams.
A barn will never look the same again to the many attendees of this talk.
