Pershore Civic Society Installs Two New Benches for Public Enjoyment
Pershore Civic Society has recently installed two new benches to enhance local public spaces.
With the kind permission of the Birmingham Anglers Association—the landowners—one bench has been placed near the start of the wooded path along the River Avon, just downstream of the (new) 1926 Pershore Bridge. This scenic spot is expected to be popular with both walkers and anglers.
The second bench has been installed in the Community Orchard in Pensham, a cherished space where both locals and visitors can pause, relax, and enjoy the village’s abundant flora and fauna.
Each bench features a brass plaque acknowledging its provenance, and both have been securely anchored using steel and concrete to deter removal. Though simply designed, the benches are robust, made from recycled, non-flammable materials, ensuring longevity and safety.
Pershore Civic Society extends sincere thanks to the Pershore Place Board for providing the necessary funding. It is hoped that these new additions will serve the community and its visitors for many years to come.
