Talk: The History of Selly Manor, Bournville

By | 15 April 2021

A rare opportunity to have this zoom presentation by Daniel Callicott, Selly Manor Museum Manager.

Discover the history of the building from its medieval origins to the incredible story of how it was saved from demolition and moved to Bournville in the early 20th century. Learn about the former residents and owners, from widower Phylis Setterford in 1608 to the involvement of the Cadbury family in the saving of this building. We will also examine the story of how Bournville came to be and how Selly Manor became an important focal point of the village, through a talk which is packed full of rare archival photographs and images. Plus we’ll pick out some of the highlights of the museum collection which was collected by Laurence Cadbury in the 1920s and 30s.

If you wish to attend please email Debby Rowley, membership secretary, who will send you  the Zoom link.
